SAT:

Students must sign up by Friday, September 10th. 

You have until next Friday, September 10th to sign up for the October 9th SAT here at Columbia City High School.   Register for the test at www.collegeboard.com


PSAT:

Students must sign up by Friday, September 17th.  Sign- up sheet is on Kathy’s desk.

The PSAT will be given Wednesday, October 13th.  Students need to sign up in the main office.  The cost is $13 for freshmen and juniors (students must pay when they register).   All sophomores are FREE!!!

Bowling Tryouts:

All students wanting to try out for the Bowling Club need to report to Main Bowl starting September  7th at 4:00 P.M.   Try outs will last until 5:30 P.M. each night. 
Try outs will be each Tuesday and Thursday on 9/7 , 9/9 and 9/14, 9/16.

2010-2011 school pictures will be taken at registration on August 4th from 11a -7p.  All students must have their pictures taken at this time, as this picture will  be used for both the yearbook and school IDs. Order forms will be available online in July and at registration.


State Mandated Immunization requirements for the 2010-2011 school year.

Parents please check your student’s immunizations. There is a good possibility that your student immunizations will need to be updated. All high school students grade 9th through 12th grade will need to have an updated Tdap, Meningitis injection and proof of Chickenpox or two Varicella injections prior to September 24th.

CCHS along with the Whitely County Health Department will be offering a FREE immunization clinic on Thursday Sept. 23, 2010 during school hours at the high school. You may download the registration form “Vaccine Administration Record & Vaccination Consent” here. Please fill in all shaded areas and return form to the CCHS Health Clinic no later than Monday, September 20th. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the CCHS school health clinic at 244-6136 ext. 3215 after August 2nd.

There is also a free walk-in immunization clinic held at the Whitley County Health Department on August 5th from 1pm – 6pm.

USDA SUMMER MEALS ARE BACK

For the second year Whitley County Consolidated Schools will participate in the USDA Summer Food Service Program.  Free meals will be made available to all children age 1 to 18 and to persons over 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.  Free meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.  There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.  Any person who believes that he or she has been discriminated against in any USDA-related activity should write immediately to:  USDA, Director, Office of Civil Rights, 1400 Independence Avenue SW, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410 or call (800) 795-3272 or (202) 720-6382.

Free meals (for children only) will be provided at Mary Raber Elementary School, 700 E. Jackson Street, Columbia City, IN 46725.  Lunch meals will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting June 7 and going through July 30 (Monday through Friday each week).  Children should enter the serving area through Entrance Door #7 (the alley side of the building).  No paperwork is required to participate.  Meals must be eaten on site and may not be shared with another person.  Parents/caregivers are encouraged to bring their lunch if they want to eat with their children.  No adult meals are available on site.

2010-2011 Immunizations

Immunizations required for 2010-11 school year
1 dose of tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap)
1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV 4)
2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or a signed written statement from the parent/guardian indicating month and year of disease is sufficient.

Please let the school nurse of your student’s updated vaccines.
